Peer Advocate Specialists

Trained Peer Advocate Specialists provide supportive assistance based on needs agreed upon with the recipient of the service. Peer advocates are current or former recipients of mental health services who have encountered similar experiences.

Peer Advocates are trained by Housing Options Made Easy, Inc.  Classes are modeled to teach employees and other members of the community who are interested in promoting mental health.  Housing Options employees are required to take a specialized course to assist our clients in promoting wellness and healthy life styles to integrate fully into their chosen community. Techniques to improve the quality of service is ongoing with refresher courses imbedded into regularly scheduled staff meetings; usually on a monthly basis.
