Housing Options Made Easy, Inc. currently is seeking a full time and Peer Advocate Specialist to work from our Rochester office. This position is designed to assist in the provisions of housing support services to persons in all our supported housing programs in Monroe County.

Successful candidates for this position should have at least six months experience in Peer Advocacy services. Must be a mental health recipient and be familiar with the mental health system. They should have or are willing to complete Housing Options Peer Specialist training. They should have the ability to work independently; have good communication skills and be invested in empowerment for mental health recovery; demonstrate knowledge of fundamental record keeping; have an understanding of confidentiality laws regarding recipient’s records and information; demonstrate an understanding of community services in the area; have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Meet at least one time per month with each consumer on caseload.
• Provide advocacy services according to the recipient’s expressed needs.
• Assist with referrals and linkages to community support services and programs.
• Provide transportation as appropriate to recipients needs.
• Chart and file all documentation in a timely manner.
• Have good organizational skills.
